Well, it certainly wasn't a day for leaving your golf cap unattended! The wind was making its presence felt around Queenstown Golf Club, with players having to work hard to keep their golf balls on the intended flight path. A few extra club selections, some creative shot-making and perhaps the odd muttered word were all part of the day's entertainment!

Today's competition was Gross Stableford (Handicap Adjusted), which gave everyone a slightly different challenge. And while the conditions were doing their best to make life difficult, there were some impressive performances across the field.

Gross Stableford – Prize Winners

Leading the way was Whetu Luna, who put together a remarkable 47 points to take first place and collect $25. That's a very impressive effort, particularly when the wind is trying to turn every shot into a lottery!

Michael Taylor and Adrian Januszkiewicz shared second and third on 37 points, while Sue Healy led the ladies' results with 36.

Joel Hasselman – An Eagle Two on the 13th!

Now for the shot of the day!

A huge congratulations to Joel Hasselman, who managed to produce an eagle two on Hole 13. That's a seriously good bit of golf, especially in today's blustery conditions.

Joel takes home the $30 Eagle Jackpot, and with no other twos recorded today, he gets to enjoy the spoils all to himself!

The Twos

There were no twos recorded today apart from Joel's eagle two. So, while everyones was battling the wind and trying to find the green, Joel was busy making the impossible look rather straightforward.

Congratulations to Whetu on a fantastic winning score, all our prize winners, and especially Joel on that memorable eagle two.

It was certainly a day when keeping the ball in play was an achievement in itself. The wind may have had the final say on a few shots, but it didn't stop some excellent golf from being played.

Thanks to everyone who came out and battled the elements. Here's hoping the next round brings a little less wind, a few more birdies and perhaps another eagle or two!
